Activities & Well-being
Each Home has a dedicated Activities & Well-being Co-ordinator who develops, organises and runs a meaningful activities programme to encourage the physical, mental & social well-being of those in our Care.
For many residents, activities and engagements are a highlight of their day and can help them become more sociable, independent, active and alert.
Our engagement programmes are personalised to reflect the fact that each person in our care has different interests, abilities and needs. We support residents in continuing with any existing hobbies whilst also encouraging them to pursue new leisure activities. We offer group and individual activities, and residents are free to opt in or out. If they would prefer to do the activity at a different time, we will arrange that!
Our activities are varied, covering creative sessions like painting and crafting, to physical activities such as yoga or balloon badminton. Residents are pampered with nail and hair treatments and entertainers are brought in to sing, dance and play music. We have hobby groups like choir practice and gardening club. We promote pet therapy and participate in inter-generational projects with local schools or groups and, where possible, residents will be taken out on excursions. If someone simply wants us to simply sit with them or read them a story, we'll be there for them.
Each home also engages in company-wide activities, such as coffee mornings, global awareness days and our annual Summer Fete which helps bring our full ‘Sanville community’ together.
We also have annual meetings with relatives, friends and family to discuss our Care Homes and activities will always be high on the agenda.
Activities are part of our Enjoy your Day concept, which looks at the key offerings our residents should receive to a high standard every day.
