About the Role.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly and professional team at Glenview Care Home. Food is one of the highlights of the day for many of our residents and this is a vital and valuable role within our Care Home. Our aim is that the food we serve is as good, if not better than the food they’d have at home.
As the Kitchen Assistant, you will assist in providing good home-cooked, nutritious, and tasty food to our residents. You will help ensure that our residents always have a first-class dining experience, including the environment, taste, choice and service. Your role will involve the likes of preparing, serving and cooking the main meals and snacks and ensuring appropriate hygiene standards are maintained in the kitchen and dining room areas.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment.
• Cleaning of all crockery/cutlery.
• Washing and preparing of vegetables.
• Preparing and serving breakfast.
• Assisting in the service of all meals.
• Responsible for cleaning the resident’s dining room.
• Observing hygiene practices - personal and otherwise.
• Reporting any accidents, which may occur.
• Attending in-service training lectures.
About You.
You will ideally have experience in a kitchen environment, and knowledge in:
• Cross infection precautions.
• Care and use of equipment for cleaning.
• Kitchen routine.
You will also have the following essential skills:
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to adapt to varying circumstances and new methods.
• Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness without supervision.
• Ability to co-operate with staff and others in the home.
