It’s Glenview’s first Christmas with Sanville Group and we want to make it extra special, which was why we chose to kick start the celebrations in style yesterday with a magical Christmas Lights Switch-On event.
On arrival, guests were treated to the sound of the harp and were handed festive treats like mince pies, shortbread, and mulled wine.
The talented Malachi Cush and Plunkett McGartland were a highlight of the evening. Their mix of Irish tunes and festive favourites got the audience singing along and tapping their feet, and we even saw a bit of dancing!
A Christmas gathering isn’t complete without a visit from Santa, and the all the children were excited to see him arrive with a sack full of presents!
The grand finale was the lighting of the huge courtyard Christmas tree. Malachi and Plunkett, with help from residents Lucy and Marian, flipped the switch and (on the second attempt!!) the beautiful tree was illuminated.
Both the interior and exterior of the home look absolutely stunning…definitely worth a visit after dark if you missed the switch on!
It was a huge success and we were delighted to get positive feedback from staff, residents and loved ones. One employee said there had never been an event like this at the Home before, and relatives thanked the Care Home team for hosting such a special and beautiful evening.
Thanks to everyone who worked hard to make this event a success and thank you to everyone that attended. We were overwhelmed with the number that came to support us.
This marks the beginning of many wonderful Christmas celebrations at Glenview. From carol singing to Christmas quizzes and festive baking, it’s going to be a busy but exciting December!
