A Heartfelt Homelife Display at Hamilton Court

Writer: JaneJane

Over several months, residents at Hamilton Court dedicated themselves to creating a unique Homelife display. This was more than a craft project; it was a collaborative effort, beginning in December and culminating in a vibrant artwork that reflects both the residents' individual talents and the values of Hamilton Court and Sanville Group.

What truly sets this display apart is that it's entirely the residents' own creation. Every shape, every colour, every element was chosen and crafted by them. Roisin, the fantastic activities coordinator, simply lent a helping hand with the more intricate cutting, ensuring their visions came to life.

The residents thoroughly enjoyed the process and felt such a sense of achievement on seeing the final piece. For those living with dementia, such art projects provide numerous benefits, including stimulating cognitive function, enhancing social interaction and promoting emotional expression.

Sharon Loane, Operations Director, commented, "This project brilliantly captures the life and vibrancy of Hamilton Court and demonstrates the remarkable artistry of our residents. The design incorporates the Sanville Group logo, our Homelife values and our residents - all encompassed within a heart, symbolising the love that unites everyone!"

Our 'Homelife' values are integral to the daily life at all our homes. They are about creating peaceful homes, sharing information openly, doing everything for the greater good, putting yourself in others' shoes, laughing and enjoying work, being person-centered, and being a friend to everyone.

Roisin shared her thoughts on the project, saying: "We're incredibly proud of our residents. Their display is a visual representation of how each resident, like a piece in a puzzle, contributes towards life at Hamilton Court. It is a beautiful addition to our Home, a constant reminder of the love, creativity and community that thrives within our walls...and it will now be taking pride of place on those walls!"
