Free Dementia Information Programme

A free virtual programme for carers, family and friends of people living with dementia or anyone who has questions about dementia will be held throughout September.


Organised by the Alzheimer's Society and The Southern Health & Social Care Trust in partnership with Craigavon and Banbridge Memory Services, it will take place on four consecutive Thursdays over Zoom beginning 5th September, 7pm – 9pm. The areas that will be covered in the meetings are listed below:

 

5 Sept           

Introduction to Dementia – Consultant Psychiatrist 

Information, Guidance and Signposting – Dementia Navigator 

 

12 Sept         

Assistive Technology - Occupational Therapist 

Behaviours that may challenge – Memory Services Nurse 

 

19 Sept         

Accessing Benefits- Make the Call

Alzheimer’s Society Services – Dementia Adviser 

 

26 Sept         

Direct Payments – Centre for Independent Living 

Herbert Protocol and In Case of Emergency cards – PSNI 

Controllership/Enduring Power of Attorney – Office of Care and Protection
